Fellow Kenyans and Friends,
Our community in Houston, after acknowledging the need to preserve our heritage, promote unity among our community members, and foster good relations with other Houstonians, has resolved to form the Kenyan Society in Houston, KENSHO.
We are excited and immensely delighted to inform you that the formative stages are complete. KENSHO is now a registered non-profit organization in the State of Texas. As outlined in its constitution, the organization is grounded on a solid foundation that appreciates our differences, respects our individuality, and acknowledges our ethnic, cultural and religious diversity. Its mission is to provide a forum for the sharing of the unique Kenyan culture in Houston and a platform for articulating and confronting societal problems affecting our community not only in Houston, but also around the US and in Kenya.
It is with great pleasure that we welcome you, your family and friends to the launch of KENSHO on Saturday July 1, 2006 from 4.00PM – 9.00PM at the Sterling Student Center Hall, Texas Southern University, 3100 Cleburne Avenue, Houston, Texas 77004. Please be prompt.
Several guests, including national and local leaders, and Kenyans from various backgrounds shall speak on the continued growth of our community as we forge together and find our way forward.
Please extend this invitation to all members of our community, as well as friends who may share KENSHO’s mission.
